Ghat Cleaning by the No. 7 Unit of National Cadet Corp

Under the "Cleaning the River water front and Ganga ghats in Varanasi"Programme

On November 20, 2005 a meeting took place with the No.7 Naval unit of the National Cadet Corp, Varanasi. In this meeting the cadets were briefed by Er. R K Mishra, Swatcha Ganga Research Laboratory, Sankat Mochan Foundation about the SMF’s objectives and efforts of the foundation to clean the Ganges. Project Coordinator Rohit Joshi also briefed the cadets about the project “Cleaning the River Water Front and Ganga Ghats of Varanasi”. The Commander N J Upadhyaya has extended full cooperation to this programme by involving the NCC cadets in the Ghat Cleaning programme on every 2^nd and 4^th Sunday of the month. This is a big achievement for the project as it can inspire other institutions to join the programme and make it a people’s programme.
